Firecracker Floats

I haven't done a single thing for the 4th of July =o( Where have I been??? We typically don't do much for the 4th, though. It's always been one of those holidays where I'm frustrated because of all the loud noises that keep waking my kids up! Does that make me grouchy? =o(

But a couple of years ago we started a tradition of going over to some friend's house to watch fireworks. They set up chairs in a row and the kids sit with their blankets on their lap and ohhh and ahhh when Fred lights off the plethora of fireworks. It's low key but a ton of fun. Here are some pictures from last year.

This year I figured I should do more than that (ya think???) So we made Firecracker Floats. I saw the idea in the June/July issue of Taste of Home Magazine. I love that magazine (thanks to winning a years subscription from Tiffanee.) Thanks, Tiffanee!

My kids (and their friends) loved them!

Super easy to make. Scoop a scoop of vanilla ice cream in a glass. Sprinkle with Pop Rocks. Add more ice cream and pour some Sprite over the top Sprinkle with more Pop Rocks! It's that simple. And so much fun!

The noises they made entertained the kids for quite awhile.

Of course my daughter loved the fizzles on her tongue!

Happy 4th of July everyone. Stay safe and enjoy!!!

I bet my kids would love that!! I haven't done a whole lot for the 4th as far as crafts go either, so don't feel too bad!

Hi! I'm having a linky party called A Themed Baker's Sunday. Usually I have a theme every week, but this week I want to see what everyone is making for the 4th. I would love if you linked up your delicious and patriotic sweetness!

My brother and I used to love pop rocks when we were kids. I haven't had them in years, so thanks for the memory. Now you'll be making the same memories with your kids.
