Twice-Baked Lemon Garlic Turkey Jerky Potatoes and a Giveaway

Show of hands - who loves beef jerky?  Okay, hands down.  Another show of hands - who hates it when you almost rip your teeth out trying to take a bite of the same beef jerky?  Yep, us too.  We (meaning my daughter and I) are HUGE jerky fans.  It's such a great thing to take as a snack but I absolutely hate it when it's the texture of shoe leather.  It gets stuck in my teeth and feels like I'm about to punch the person next to me as I'm trying to rip a piece off.  Yikes.

Have you ever cooked with jerky?  I'll be totally honest with you.  When I first looked at the Krave Jerky recipe page on their website I was a little skeptical.  Cooking with shoe leather?  What the heck.  How would it not be tough?

But what if the jerky looked like this?  YUM!

The box arrived with the various Krave Jerky flavors in it and I instantly got why they cook with it.  It wasn't shoe leather at all!  I was totally surprised to see actual slices of meat that weren't all shriveled and tough.

After tasting all the amazing flavors I knew exactly what I wanted to make, Twice-Baked Lemon Garlic Jerky Potatoes.  Oh man.  Don't they just sound amazing?!?!

Krave jerky comes in eight amazing flavors: Basil Citrus, Chili Lime, Curry, Garlic Chili Pepper, Lemon Garlic, Pineapple Orange, Smoky Grilled Teriyaki and Sweet Chipotle.

Krave Jerky is a great anytime snack because it's a high-protein, low calorie food.  There are no nitrates, hormones or artificial flavors either.  And the American Heart Association has deemed Krave Jerky as a heart healthy food.

I think my absolute favorite was the Lemon Garlic Turkey Jerky.  Look at how delicious it looks.

I baked large baking potatoes in a 350 degree oven for about an hour.  Poke them with a fork to make sure they are soft all the way though.

When the potatoes are cooked through, remove from the oven.  While still hot, cut off the top of each potato and carefully scoop out the inside.  Make sure you don't make a hole in the side of the potato =o)  Put the potato insides in a bowl.

I didn't really measure any of the ingredients.  I just put a plop of butter in with the potato insides and started mixing.  Add sour cream and ranch dressing and whip until smooth.

Cut up the Lemon Garlic Turkey Jerky.

I had to watch my daughter pretty closely at this point.  She kept eating the jerky!

Mix in the jerky and shredded cheddar cheese.  Scoop into the potato bowls and top with more cheddar cheese.

Bake for another 15 monutes.  Remove from oven and serve.

Don't they just look delicious?!?!  The jerky added a whole new taste to the potatoes.  It was a little sweet and a lot delicious and I LOVED them!

Where can you find Krave Jerky for yourself?  You can find them on their website at KraveJerky.com or on Facebook or Twitter.

How about winning your own sampler pack of Krave Jerky?  Enter on the rafflecopter below!

Good luck!  Giveaway ends on November 9th at midnight and it open to all US residents, 18 years of age or older.

We love jerky around here. We just make our own...deer or beef. That way, we can flavor it like we want and dry it only as long as we want.

I'd like to try this. :)
