Raspberry Swirls

My daughter saw these wonderful looking treats in her Fancy Nancy Tea Parties book. (Did I mention we LOVE Fancy Nancy?!) Her books are stupendous (that's fancy for great!) I did an earlier post from this book as well. Click here to see it.

So Ellie saw these and said to me "oh, let's make these posh treats!" I think she has been reading too much Fancy Nancy, because then she said "posh is fancy for fancy" and gave me the biggest smile!

So I read the recipe - I think it's still called a recipe when there are only two ingredients, right??? It sounded simple. It sounded pretty tasty. Who doesn't love jelly, right?

Here is what you will need:

* soft bread, sliced (We used white bread because I'm a lover of white bread. I know, not totally healthy but it's awesome!)

* jelly (any flavor you want. We used homemade raspberry jelly. Yep, I made it. I'm kind of a jelly snob. I want it to taste amazing and not like gelatin with a touch of flavor. So every summer we make raspberry jelly and devour it throughout the year.)

* rolling pin

* wax paper

Directions:

* Cut the crust off of the bread

* cover with wax paper and roll out until flat (you can make it as flat as you would like).


* Cover one side with jelly



* roll up (I rolled another piece of bread right after the first one to make it a larger roll).

* cut into slices


* Bon appetit! (That's fancy for enjoy!)
