Caramel and Chocolate Covered Rice Crispy Treats

I think rice crispy treats are the mac daddy of desserts. I love them! I always have. But I don't like the store bought rice crispy treats. They taste weird. So when my friend Heather sent me a picture of a rice crispy treat dipped in caramel and then milk chocolate (with the subject "you have to make these") I had to make them. Let me rephrase that... I had to make them! I mean seriously. The perfect dessert then dipped in awesome and then dipped again in awesome. I'm all over it! (Thank you Heather!!!)

Super easy to make!

I made a pan of rice crispy treats.

* 3 Tbls. of melted butter
* 1 bag of mini marshmallows
* 6 cups of rice crispies

Then I cut them into squares.

I melted caramels in the microwave with a tiny amount of milk. Then dipped the treats in the caramel so the tops were completely covered.

Final step - melt milk chocolate chips in the microwave and then dip the caramel layer in the chocolate.
I know, right?! Pure heaven.

Here's one cut open. Can you see the caramel? Oh, it's tasty!!!

I made these for our company who are coming into town on Saturday but I seriously doubt I, I mean my kids, won't eat them all before then.

As if rice krispie treats aren;t good enough on their own, you have to add even more goodness with the caramel and chocolate! YUM!

Well now I have no desire for plain rice crispy treats! The extra flavor on top really does make it so much tastier. Thanks for sharing.

Rice Crispy Treats are great because 1) simple to make and 2) can have almost anything added to them or placed on them to make a new dessert without running the oven.
