Lego Birthday Party: The Cookies

I had high hopes of making the world's coolest Lego cookies known to man. Well, that didn't totally happen but my kids were pretty happy with what I finally decided I could (and had the time) to make.

I found this idea over on Cake Central.  I think they're pretty cute.

I used Sue's recipe for her No Fail Sugar Cookies.  It's my favorite and I have been making it ever since I found it.  You can find it on my Stained Glass Cookies or our Corn Dog Cookies.  (Or, of course, Munchkin Munchies - that's Sue) =o)

The recipe makes a lot (which is both great and exhausting) =o)

We made them in rectangles.  I just winged it so they aren't all the same (or by any means perfect.)

I also used Sue's royal icing recipe and made it in yellow, red, blue and green.  Pipe the edges (holy smokes.  How do people have the patience for this?!?!

Then fill it in and add M&Ms of the same color.

Cute, right?

I was told we couldn't have all those Lego bricks without a platform piece.

That's one giant cookie!

Do they kind of look like Legos?  (Minus the wonky-ness of them.)
