Lucky to Have You {Teacher Appreciation}

 

We had time to do one more little idea for our teachers for Teacher Appreciation Week.  Again, simple and easy.  And a free printable.  Bonus!

We printed out the tags from 3 Boys and a Dog (or you can find it here too.)  I bought some of the Lucky Charms Bars but you could buy the little cups of cereal or make fun, Lucky Charm cookies too. 

Print out the tags. I added a layer of purple cardstock behind them and tied them with ribbon.

Brownie Points for the Teacher {Teacher Appreciation}

Here's another fun and simple idea to do for your kid's teachers. We made some brownies and printed out these tags from Happy Home Fairy.

I wasn't quite sure how to wrap up the brownies since it's been pretty warm here lately and the brownies had a chocolate, fudge type topping (of course.)  So we went with a plastic container and taped the tags on.  Then added a little ribbon.  I'm sure a celo bag would have been "fancier", and if we would have made plain brownies it would have worked.  But I don't think the teachers are going to complain.

Hands Down Best Teacher {Teacher Appreciation Gift}

Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week. What are you doing for your teachers?  Are you in need of some fun (and simple) ideas that tell that special teacher that you are thankful for everything they do?  We have a few that were big hits with my kid's teachers.

Here's one of the gifts we're doing this year.  It's simple and fun and I love how they turned out.  

The printables can be found on Eighteen 25 or here.  They are perfect!  I printed them out and then on my Cricut machine, I printed out hand prints.  You could also trace your child's hand print and use that.  Attach to a bottle of liquid hand soap (or even hand lotion) and voila!

Letters From Santa (Free Resources)

Christmas is my absolute favorite holiday.  People could argue why Christmas is important, the "true meaning".  Some people could argue that it's other things that make Christmas time special.  I'm not here to argue either.  I just love Christmas.  

I love the feeling Christmas brings.  Whether it's coming together in Church and celebrating something so much bigger than all of us, or the lights and decorations and festivities.  There is a feeling of hope this time of year.  When people come together and help one another.  A feeling of wonderment in the faces of small children.  And a feeling of warmth and familiarity for those who have traditions in their family that have been passed down for years.  

I love seeing my children's faces every morning when they look for our Elf, Zachary.  I love when they ask me questions about Santa and how he comes into everyone's house on the same night.  How they talk to Zachary and tell him about their day.  It makes my heart happy.

I found the absolute coolest thing on the internet the other day.  It's site that sends letters to children (or adults) from Santa!  Yep, you read that right... FROM SANTA!  The looks on my kid's faces when they watched their personalized videos was truly something I will never forget.  

The site is Portable North Pole and you have to go check it out.  You will love it!

We Wish You a Merry KISSmas and a CHAPPY New Year

My friend Renee told me about this idea she found on Pinterest.  I loved it so much I, of course, had to do it too.  Isn't it cute?  Simple and easy.  The perfect combination for a small thank you gift for teachers or friends.  We're doing these for my kid's teachers.  We did this cute idea last year and they were a hit.

We made the tags on the computer and backed them with colored paper.  The tags say "We Wish You a Merry KISSmas and a CHAPPY New Year".  Here are the tags that Renee made for me.  (She's way more techy than me!)  You can right click and save them and print them out. 

Put any type of lip balm in a cello bag and tie with a ribbon.  Viola!  

What do you think?  That's clever, right?  =o)

"Let's Roll Into School" Back to School Teacher Gift

My kids and I were going through all the fun back to school teacher gift ideas and were about to pick out our favorite when we spied this fun and easy idea over on The Taylor House blog (who found it over on Craft Junkie Too).  Tracy even made the printable for me to steal use.  I absolutely love free printables!

This is such an easy idea!  It didn't take long to make nine little bags but I hope my kid's teachers will feel a little appreciated and excited to start back to school on Tuesday.

You'll need the free printable found here, ribbon, mini Tootsie rolls and celo bags.  Easy so far right?!

I mounted my cards on thicker card stock so they wouldn't be so flimsy.  Chrissy laminated hers which is genius.  I would have done that if I actually had a laminator, but I don't (insert sad face here.)

Easy peasy!

Orange You Glad It's Summer Gift Idea

Are you looking for another fun and easy gift idea? This one is perfect! We gave them to my kid's teachers on the last day of school but they can be for friends, daycare providers, family, you name it! And you can make them as big or small as you would like.

I found the idea on Coley's Corner where she has the free printable. (Who doesn't love free printables??!!)

Then I went to the Dollar Store and bought these cute orange bags (2 for $!) and filled them up with orange things I also found at the Dollar Store: silly string, Cheetos, Reese's Pieces and Orange Soda.  I spent a total of $15 on all 4 gifts.   I love it!

And voila!  Fun summer (or end of year teacher) gifts.

Fun & Simple Father's Day Idea

Every Father's Day I bake for my Dad. As you know, I love to bake. And my Dad loves when I bake. It's a win-win. =o) But my kids wanted to do something fun for their Grampa and as soon as I saw this idea - I knew it was the one we were going to do. How cute!

Lego Birthday Party: The Invitations

My son is crazy for Legos!  He always had been (which is a great thing.)  I hate it when they love something for one holiday and then as soon as it's over with, and they have a ton of the toys, they decide they don't like it anymore.  Ugh.  But not with Legos. They are classic!

I started planning last year, in fact.  Then at the last minute my son decided to have a Pokemon party.  (You can see our Pokemon Party posts here, here, here and here.)  But I've been keeping all my Lego ideas (and pins on Pinterest) because I was hoping this year he would want a lego party.  Sure enough!  We're having a Lego party!

Here are the invitations we made.  Pretty simple but pretty darn cute.  And I didn't have to buy a single thing to make them!  I had the paper (except I only had red at the time) and a circle punch.

Didn't they turn out cute?

I used dimensionals to raise the circles so they would look like Lego "bumps".

We're off to make more Lego creations.  Wait until you see the goodie bags =o)
